Cupcakes and BBQ's

I know I haven't posted in a while, I've been super busy planning my eldest daughter's 7th birthday party and vacation trip. You would think I made cupcakes for Gabi's birthday but she wasn't sold on that idea. Apparently seven year old's think that a true birthday party comes complete with a store bought Hello Kitty! birthday cake. So that is exactly what Gabi got! Next month, the baby of the family turns 4, and of course, she wants a Dora birthday cake. Hey, if they're happy, I'm happy!!!

Fortunately, I have other plans coming up soon where I will be baking cupcakes. Since it is a BBQ, of course I want bbq inspired food and dessert. I have in mind Smores cupcakes, Margarita cupcakes, Dulce de Leche cupcakes and I'm thinking Lemon Meringue cupcakes.  The word Meyer won't be mentioned, since I never find those types of great lemons anywhere near me. But nevertheless, lemons will be making an appearance.

And finally, I will spend this weekend baking White Chocolate cupcakes of one variety or another to enter The Sweetest Kitchen's Mystery Box Cupcake Ingredient contest!  Oh yeah, I'm also attending two children's birthday parties..RUM NOW!!
